Christmas ... Begins again

The season of advent for me is a season of great joy.Not the joy of shopping or the joy of too much turkey and mince pies but the joy of knowing that the King of Glory came down and dwelt among us. 

The one who was so rich with all the blessings of heaven that he gladly left behind to become poor and dwell amongst us ... He came to show us the way. ... So look to Him this advent season and not to what you have or don't have and know the real joy of Christmas ... Jesus Christ our Lord our Saviour .

Another farewell and a new chapter ...

Said goodbye to our house in Elder Gardens today. Four happy years there and Five great years at Bridge chapel. 

Now a new chapter begins with a new community of believers at Bethel Green lane. 

Trusting every day to Him , knowing that I walk in his peace as he marks out the way ahead for me and my family and our new church family 

London. ... Good to be all together again

Pain and suffering are all ultimately temporary for the Christian x

Tea and sympathy :) .... Not ...

Enjoyed a nice cup of Herbal Tea with Laura today ... Ginger root and ' basket of berries' , hopefully it will make the cold that she has disappear. 

Katie begins a new chapter ....

A couple of Saturdays ago  was the day when Katie began her new adventure in Loughton Essex. Her new job with Yummy Jobs in Epping has led to her southern migration ! 

Sad to see her finally fly the nest but trusting that The Lord has lots of good things in store for her down there. 

Silence ....

In our lives we have lots of noise .... TV , Radio , Facebook, Twitter, snapchat ... It is becoming harder and harder to sit in silence before The Lord and to know his peace. 

I am always fascinated by the account of the building of the temple by Solomon. All the stones where placed one on top of the other in complete silence. The presence of God causes us to marvel and wonder and worship in silence. 

1 Kings 6:7

" When the house was built, it was with stone prepared at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was being built."

God's way is ALWAYS right.

The wisdom from heaven if heeded would cause us not to fuel the fires of gossip . Don't talk about someone behind their back. Even if you have been wronged. Instead give them to God in prayer . He is the one we should talk to. So stop putting the wood on your fire today and watch how the peace of God works.

Sometimes when I spend time in The Word with pen and moleskine to hand the sense of His presence is palpable. " The Lord is at Hand " 

Grace and Grasmere

Thankful for good friends and great places. All of which are supplied by the grace of God. Grasmere with Paul and Ali ... Another great set of memories. 

More Wem Carnival capers....meet the Flinstones :)

Phil has a knack of persuading me to do the unusual when it comes to serving The Lord. This time we dressed up for the carnival whilst a team of folk handed out good news to all who would take a leaflet. 

Great day and our float won second prize. Well done Tee. 

To dwell with Him

It is possible to walk in communion with Jesus wherever you may be 

In a coffee shop .. He speaks .. When you walk your dog .... He speaks. 

Essex and Chester.

GTravelled to Wanstead, woodford, Loughton and Epping with Katie to find her a place to live for her new Job. Good trip but one that didn't find her a home ... So we keep looking 

Today I walked the walls of Chester. Praying , reading and journaling. Good day 🙏

Days of Peace.

Nice every now and then to chill. Nicer still when your by the beach an then it gets even better if the sun is shining. 

Lovely day , thankful and at peace having decided to open a new chapter on our lives.
