Gone Home.

Andy Lyons went to be with the Lord yesterday. He over this last couple of years at Bethel had become the greatest of friends . His life was a testimony to the God he loved and now sees in the paradise of heaven.

Well done , good and faithful friend. . Rest in everlasting peace brother. Until we meet again x

Where is your tree ( your life ) planted ?

Every day I sit in my study and look out on this tree. I have watched it through Spring and Summer and now Autumn.
It's a healthy tree , well planted and nourished.
Like this tree our mental and spiritual health is dependant on where our roots are planted.
You will only ever flourish in life if your roots are planted in the one who gave you life.
Jesus Christ feeds the soul. Plant your roots into Him today. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ˜‡

A message of mission.

This week I have spent some time at the FIEC conference in Hemsby Norfolk with a few of the leaders from Bethel. ( Josh, Andy, Derek &Don )

The theme was evangelism. A great week of thought provoking stuff.

Going to spend some time processing in my mind and heart all that was said. This will ultimately lead to action as we don't merely listen to the word of  God we do what it says. James 1:22.

Non stop this week

It has been so good to be taking the great name of Jesus out into the streets of Liverpool and into the events we have organised.
God's people from both sides of the Atlantic have been faithful to the great commission .
Trusting in Him to reap the harvest as the workers have been out in the the fields these last few days.

Angels rejoice.

A remarkable story began for a young woman in Croxteth yesterday . We knocked on her door and God knocked on her heart.

The whole team were truly humbled as we witnessed how the Spirit of God draws people to himself.

We are rejoicing with the angels.

Brothers and sisters working together.

What unites a community of people?

As Christians we are joined together by our desire to follow Jesus Christ. So when Christian  folk who we have never met before come and join us and live in our homes and seek to serve alongside us then we are immediately united by our common faith .

Today as we sought to obey the great commission  I was struck by the harmony and the humour found in this band of brothers and sisters πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ™πŸ»πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Helpers from afar. The USA .

A few of my brothers and sisters ( in Christ ) flew in today to help us with a week of outreach that we have at Bethel.
Really looking forward to getting to know these guys and working with them.

All for Him πŸ™πŸ»

Joe & Joe & Maggie doing the airport selfie. Apparently Joe ( with the beard ) forgot he had a flick knife and a bullet in his luggage ( as he didn't check his bag before he left ) πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ it got confiscated of course πŸ™ˆ Maggie's face reflects the drama 😳

Ashley and Marci ( mother and daughter ) and James. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Off over the pond.

Went for a final fling around Delamere Forest with Mark & Ben this afternoon. Mark and his wife  are starting a new chapter as youth workers in Florida.

We walked , talked , meditated and prayed. To God be the Glory πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

The last breakfast ... for James

James, one of our  merry band of brothers , is off to Leeds at the weekend to start a new job . We took the opportunity to say farewell over a good old English breakfast πŸ‘πŸ». Followed by Luke 23 as we continued our studies in the word of God.

This afternoon was glorious ... sat in the garden studying in the bright sunshine. Staring at the tree πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸ»

Encouragement.

Met with Phil today, something we have done regularly since we worked in Wem together. We know each other well , having been friends for 13 years . These meetings are always encouraging and challenging as we hold each other accountable . The Macdonald's and the coffee also help us along πŸ˜„πŸŸ☕️

Also today the girls at Archbishop Blanch Christian Union were an encouragement as together we assembled some shoeboxes , ready to brighten up the Christmas of these who have much less than we do. Have you put together a box yet ?

Monday's .... meditation & marriage.

I try to keep Monday's free from meetings. I spend more time meditating and occasionally take my bride on a date. πŸ˜„πŸ‘πŸ»❤️. ... today has been one of those days.
Great place to walk and think.

A treat tonight... anchovy salad πŸ‘πŸ»

Followed up with shopping for the Blytheswood  shoebox Christmas appeal. πŸ‘πŸ»
